A Space for Poetry

Teddy Kelley
In life, we need to stop sometimes. Just stop. Open your eyes and reflect, no matter where you are or what you are doing. Just. Stop. And that is what I did this week. Turn off the TV, let go of screen time, and observe the world around you. What a healing moment…I am grateful!
Here’s a poem that came out of that moment….it’s called: The Mist on the Lake
Solitary and silent.
Your mystery rises, revealing the ducks and geese…
Hidden, yet heard in the mist.
Diamond coated grass.
A reminder that winter is here.
Crispy. White.
Reflecting the sun, your sparkles, dazzle.
Me? I pause and breathe…
A stop during my run.
I cannot pass by this moment.
Heavenly earth.
You are glorious in your gifts.
I stand in awe and breathe…
1…2…3.
